Observation 94239: Gymnopilus P. Karst.

When: 2012-05-09

Collection location: Mount Barker, South Australia, Australia [Click for map]

Who: Kari (Kari)

No specimen available

Fungi season is setting in here in South Australia AT LAST! I found these baby Gymnopilus growing on my “magic log” on our property – a sign of things to come. I suspect these are G. purpuratus, though i can’t be sure. This old pine log is host to at least three different Gymnopilus species, so watch this space :o)
