say that sanguineus (the tropical one) has thinner caps than cinnabarinus – and “staghorn”-like hyphae that aren’t described in cinnabarinus. P. coccineus has larger pores.

what separates this from P. cinnabarinus. I’ve heard that one is tropical and one is temparate. P. coccineus I’m not at all familiar with. Ryvarden’s tropical polypore volume should make some sense out of it.
