How strong was the stem? Microscopy would be interesting.

Because they were very small, terrestrial, the stem was not brittle, the gills were medium brown with some golden traces at the edges, and so on …

this is a “Psathyrella”. The bigest one had only a bit more than 1 cm for the diameter of cap and very fragile structure.
Although some wood can be seen in the first picture, they were attached to the ground.
