Hello from many miles away.

I just wanted to throw out a friendly piece of information in case it can help with microscopy.

Try taking a whole, complete gill out of a mushroom.
Place the gill on a glass slide so the cap portion is on top and the true gill edge is on the bottom.
Make a straight cut up/down on the left and right sides (this will give you a good view into the gill to search for pleurocystidia).
The bottom true edge will show cheilocystidia.

All sides will usually show basidia and spores – with the exception of the top.
