Observation 94851: Ganoderma curtisii (Berk.) Murrill

No herbarium specimen

Notes: I stumbled on this mushroom while walking in a woods today. It stands 6 1/2" tall. It’s just stunning. It’s growing on the ground just off a path. The top, underside and stem are all smooth. No signs of gills, nor pores. I’d love to know what it is!

Mostly Sweet Gum trees and Pin Oaks.
