Notes: Found growing under a douglas fir in dirt. I imagine there was some sort of woody debris below the dirt. All microscopy pictures are taken at 800X.

Summary: mycorrhizal

Inocybe species are mycorrhizal, in other words forming a dense hyphal mantel around tree roots; the fungus gets sugars (carbs!) from the tree in exchange for nutrients (often nitrogen).

i would not expect these to grow on wood.
