Noticed a lichen that I had previously photographed. 7 years had passed.

Note black rectangle within right hand image approximates borders of image at left.

Friability of rock important determining width of bands.

Yes, its hard to match them. It took me quite a while to find various various cracks and protrusions in the rock in the latter image to approximate the rectangular area of the earlier image. Unfortunately when I noticed the lichen the 2nd time I was not prepared to photograph it from exactly the same angle. (I should carry a print of the 1st image with me next time I’m up that way.)

Amazing how much has happened in seven years. It’s hard to even match the two up… even with the outline drawn in the newer photo!
