Observation 95630: Marasmius sullivantii Mont.
When: 2012-05-27
(35.5618° -84.2371° 259m)
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Very small. Cap deameter less than 0.5 cm. Stipe length approximately 2 cm. Under well decayed hardwood log on wood debris and humus. Very interesting “hydrophobic” cap texture (when the cap was submerged in a bowl of water, it remained dry, and when removed from the water was completely dry). Cap cuticle appears to have “broom cells.”

Also, interesting marginate gills!
