Notes: Terrestrial, sooty gray cap with fibrillose surface, margin recurved, undulatingGills attached, white, also undulating, translucent, waxy appearance.Pileipellis, thin, almost non-existent at outer 2/3 of cap, see sectionStipe 3/4" to 1" thick, partially hollow, enlarging downward, brittle, no tap root detectedSpores appear to be white

That had not occurred to me due to the shape of the cap – which seems to be flat in most of the ones I have seen and more shiny and translucent. But this is younger. Stipe was very brittle and gills look right. Thanks!
