I was looking for Cortinarius, so I could be biased. Its form looks right (brown spored, emarginate gills) except for the cracks in the cap. I thought maybe those were formed from the climate conditions. Now you’ve got me wondering whether its an Agrocybe. I’ve never seen it before.

Hello. I was just wondering how you recognized this mushroom by sight…?

Did it still have the cobwebby veil intact, or had you seen it before?

Just curious. :)

Thanks.
