Observation 9614: Urnula padeniana M. Carbone, Agnello, A.D. Parker & P. Alvarado
When: 2002-03-02
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Sarcosoma mexicana is a large cup fungi with a gelatinous base. In situ, it resembles a large hole in the ground; up close it looks like what it is. Under full canopy Douglas fir, where these were collected, it appears much darker black. The name S. mexicana has now been deprecated to S. mexicanum.
