So its presence in southern WI seems perfectly reasonable. But do please let me know when you tease out the difference between “subirregular to sublinear” and “sublinear”. :)
First I thought it was the same as observation 96649, since I picked them on the same boulder. They looked slightly different, though, and tests showed this one turning only orange in K, while the other one turning blood red. So I think this one might be X.angustiphylla , although that species doesn’t usually go this far south in WI.
