Collected during the 2003 Oregon Mycological Society’s Fall Mushroom Forage at Camp Macgruder, Tillamook Co., OR. While a species name was not arrived at while I was at the forage, this species is near L. payettensis because the latex does not change to yellow, and the taste is intensely peppery. In most other respects, to me it looked like the orange variant of L. deliciosus.
