Collected during the 2003 Oregon Mycological Society’s Fall Mushroom Forage at Camp Macgruder, Tillamook Co., OR. S. areolatum has a powdery gleba when mature, and is usually very dark brown to brown/black when mature, as this one is. The peridium is generally whole until so old you can’t tell what the original coloration was.
