I would enjoy seeing Pegler’s keys and descriptions of members of the L. crinitus complex posted at this site. That is one mycological reference book I do not have.

is one possibility, but this is really a species complex of a good 5-6 distinct members, most of whom get erroneously shoved under the heading of L. crinitus. I’ve commented to that effect on other Lentinus obs elsewhere on the site. Still making sense out of it all. Will post keys and descriptions from Pegler’s 1983 monograph as time allows.

I think I saw it on FB several hours ago and suggested the name Lentinus crinitus! But it could have been another collection!
