This single puffball was found at about 5500 ft., approximately one mile south of Silver Fork campground in a conifer forest predominately populated by true fir (Abies spp.), with some Lodgepole pine. The standout out feature is the long, curly points that extend from the pyramidal peaks that remind me of pulled taffy or meringue to a fine point.
