Recognized by sight: Neither have I heard of P. admirabilis in Europe. But leoninus is usually describes as having a white to cream stipe instead of a romelli-colored one like here…

what is the pileipellis in this one – is it a celluloderm – then it is P. chrysophlebius (one of the synonyms is P. admirabilis), or – is it a hispidoderm – then it is P. leoninus.

Quite a few Pluteus species are widespread, occurring throughout the temperate zones of the Northern Hemisphere.
