Notes: Found under hardwoods in mixed mesophytic forest.
Cap 3-8 cm wide, depressed, velvety, pitted with ridges, brownish to tan, with emerging concentric zones, bruising brown.
Hymenium: teeth/spines decurrent, brown.
Stipe 2-3 cm long; 0.5-1.5 cm thick, textured like the cap, spongey.
