which I have recently IDed here in Pennsylvania, USA.

Tex, did you consider the genus Flammulaster. I don’t really think your obs shows a Flammulaster… not overall scaly/shaggy enough. But there are similarities for Flammulaster and some dry/grainy capped Pholiotas.

Seems odd for me to discuss similar collections made during the same small time period with someone in Austrailia.
