Notes: First record of this uncommon perennial bracket for the Chicago Region. Fruitbody was effused-reflexed for many feet under a large decorticated log (ash, oak, or maple). Free edges showed seven layers; context layering was indistinct. Found by mushroom class members during a walk.

Based on microscopic features: Basidiospores 3.4-4.0 × 2.8-3.0 microns, ovoid, yellow in KOH, negative in Melzers. Hymenial setae (12) 17-28 (33) x 5-7 (8) microns.
