Notes: Looks a tad different than the usual Podaxis pistillaris, and I say this with respect to the brown areas on the mushroom. All of the one’s that I have observed in Tucson had no brown, and they were all white. What could this variation mean?
These specimens were found after I went on a walk. I localized them immediately in an empty lot near some bushes; it seems they have grown strategically to be shielded from the harsh Sonoran sun with the help of those nearby plants.
