Collection location: Mount San Jacinto State Park, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ivan Rodriguez (Ivan Rodriguez)

No specimen available

Really unsure on what this could be. I’ve looked around and at the minimum it might be Scleroderma, but I’d need an expert to help determine what this snow-dwelling find could be. They were high on this tree, and luckily there was one on the floor nearby that I sliced open and could observe more carefully.

View of peridium.
Sliced open.
Where they occured; more or less ten feet high on the bark.
