That’s a first for me. Never seen P. aipolia looking so at home on rock. (In fact, I have no records in my notes of ever seeing it on rock.)

I am used to treat such a large thallus on rock as P.phaea at first sight

Which is what I initially did here. This one defies all the assumptions about how species is “supposed to” look, and the substrate as well. According to T.Esslinger, the defining character here is pruinose apothecia.
