Recognized by sight: Note the rusty-brown web-like partial veil remnants on the upper part of the stem. The purplish coloration is also consistent with Cortinarius. Active Psilocybes will have more blue-gray / blue-green tones instead of the purple seen in this specimen.

I found, what looks like to me, the same species yesterday on Sehome Hill. I confirmed the genus as a Cortinarius. It does look very similar to a cyanescens, the webbed veil and the color of the stipe gave it away for me (and the smaller/younger mushrooms seemed much larger than a newgrown cyanescens).
