The specimens you had were probably very young.
I have other pictures of smaller ones that look just like yours, but they were in fact bigger. Did you have a chance to go back where you found them afterwards? The specimens, which were very abundant, rapidly turned brown because of the spore colour.

Thanks for the name Renee. As you can see in the bottom photo, these are tiny. Otherwise they look like the photos you posted at MycoQuebec. I’d call the name promising.
