there is no season this year. I have to go for at least 100 kilometers to find mushrooms. The most eastern part of Austria is literally drying up and it’s getting worse from year to year. We have subcontinental pannonic climate with very few rainfall (should be 800 per year, but once again a year with less than half of it) and wind and temperature is rising to the max. Had 38° C last week which is a new high for us (about 100 °F) and no better in prospect.
But in Inner Austria (Alp mountains) and western Austria it is much better and I was in Southern Austria during weekend where there are plenty of mushrooms. This Cort here is from Italy from 2008.

lovely cort.
