You should of course use the name you know for it – as long as no one has checked/published their DNA and compared them.

Btw, our sinopica is recognized by its orangish colour on cap and stem, strong contrast to the white gills, somewhat scurfy cap surface, and farinaceous smell.

The honest answer is that I don’t understand a concept for C. sinopica very well, and C. squamulosa var. montana appears to be the name used in the western mountains.
