A group of 10-15 growing on a trail near campground. The super-large one (in the picture with skunk cabbage) was found by a creek, about 300 m away, growing solo.
Spores 20 × 12-14 microns. Hollow stem and smooth cap underside should distinguish it from H. compressa.
