HABITAT well-lit mature hardwood forest on broad high ridge; SUBSTRATE hardwood bark; ASPECT partly sunny; NOTES K+y weak, C-, KC-, ecorticate greenish-whitish crust, abundant lecanorine apothecia, rims thalline with no cortex but algal-free zone around margin, algae scattered in clumps below apothecia, amphithecium POL+ white small crystals not clearing in K, epihymenium brownish POL- clearing somewhat in K, hymenium clear to reddish brownish in places; SPORES 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, 11-13 × 6-8 µm

Spores too small by far for L. allophana, leaving L. glabrata which is only mentioned in passing in Lichens of North America but is recorded for the park.
