Notes: HABITAT southern slopes near top of ridge; SUBSTRATE Tsuga bark; ASPECT partly shaded; NOTES K+y, C-, KC-, thin and wrinkly greenish-whitish crust, large substipitate lecanorine apothecia, rims white at first soon very thin to almost excluded, disk large and red-brown and epruinose, red-brown epihymenium inspersing into hymenium POL+ clearing and bleeding yellow in K, hymenium reddish-brownish clearing in K, hypothecium opaque POL+ fine crystals clearing and bleeding yellow in K, algae in rims and continuous under apothecia, parahpyses scarcely branched and slightly enlarged at tips where they are encrusted with tiny golden-brown granules (in K), asci IKI+blue strong in walls and broad thick tip; SPORES 8 per ascus, to 3-septate (very hard to see), hyaline, smooth, comet-shaped to fusiform, 40-60 × 5 µm, somewhat curved and twisted, IKI+ weak golden
