Observation 997: Lepiota sequoiarum Murrill
When: 2006-11-18
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Pretty sure about the id on this one. The spores turned out white, the gills are free. Although the caps and gills were so small it was hard to tell.

The caps were very fibrous on the surface which was a nice little detail. There was a slight veil in the field on these, but it went away by the time I got them home.

I thought it was L. seminuda from the discription in Arora, but now it is L. sequioarum, from comments by Else Vellinga. See observation 1081.
