I am a musician here in the New Orleans area. I recently moved out here in Big Branch (North shore) nearly 3 years ago. We live on the fringe of a wildlife refuge. It’s probably less than 2/10 of a mile down the road. Very picturesque. At this point I know very little about mushrooms and the like. But I am learning a little and find it very fascinating.

My main objective is to document as many of the variety of fungi on the 2/3 acre land that we live on. I’m amazed at what I’ve found so far. I appreciate everyone here that helps identify my observations. During this first year I have learned a great deal but by comparison to many of you I still know very little.
