I’ve been an amateur mycologist since about toddler age, possibly younger, whenever it was my parents first yelled at me to stay away from the toddler-sized mushrooms I liked to crawl up to growing in the back yard. I’ve twice collaborated with the Western Montana Mycological Association’s annual expedition and survey in Madidi National Park in the Bolivian Amazon, as well as having volunteered with and spoken on behalf of the Amazon Mycorenewal Project as their Media and Outreach Coordinator, with whom I intend to assist again this winter as a fellow field technician and co-taxonomist. Mushroom photography has gathered more of my interest and fascination (and bank account) over the past two years than ever before, the results of which can be seen here as well as at www.flickr.com/photos/myxomop, though the output is painfully slow while software expertise and access to adequate facilities increase. I hope to someday create a torrent tracker devoted to all things mycology. Complimentary to my interest in mycology as a biological science, I am passionately interested in ethnomycology/fungal anthropology as well.
