I’m a graduate student of philosophy at the university of Utah. A fascination with mushroom identification and taxonomy first prompted me to question “What is a Species?”.

In 2011 I wrote a master’s thesis on that question at Ohio University.

Last year I began work on my PhD at the U. My primary area of interest centers on philosophy of biological taxonomy, the species problem, phylogenetic inference, and the extension and boundaries of biological individuals.
