HABITAT recently lightly-burned open oak forest high on north slope; SUBSTRATE Pertusaria albescens on bark of Quercus chrysolepis at chest height by trail; ASPECT partly shaded; NOTES no thallus; ASCOCARP substipitate black disc, rim prominant even smooth shiny, disc round flat to somewhat convex, epihymenium dark brown, exciple brown with radiating short hyphae particularly dark brown at margin, subhymenium continuous and indistinguishable from exciple and hypothecium, all K-; SPORES 8 per ascus, brown, smooth, 1-3 septate, constricted around septa, ~15-20 × 4-5 µm.
