… it’s difficult to tell when this much reddish pigment has pervaded the cap, but, my guess is that these are in Section Xanthodermati, based on the slightly squared cap shape.
I think I saw some of these at Swauk, what the heck is it? Doesn’t really look like subrutilescens and no KOH reaction, but they were quite old.
