Definitely peckii

This isn’t H. cyanopodium , the colors of this specimen are different (reddish instead of bluish). We found cyanopodium on this same foray and they were distinctly different, I also just looked at the spores of this specimen; they are not ‘shaped like jacks’ they have more warts and the warts are smaller, fitting Hydnellum peckii.

The picture appears to have bluish tones, but the specimen did not.
