Notes:
Location: 35°13’49.26"N, 85°57’47.14"W, el. 575 m, Dotson Point Trail.

Substrate: Growing on the trunk of a large tree, within 1 m of the ground, near a small stream.

Habitat: Oak-hickory woodland on the western rim of the Cumberland Plateau.

Chemistry:
cortex C-, K+ yellow
medulla C-, K-

Characterization: corticolous fringe lichen with
(1) prominent white bristles pointing obliquely outwards from lobe tips and margins
(2) soredia under lobe tips
(3) pure white, cortex-free, fibrous undersurface
