Velvety brown cap wtih white pores bruising yellowish brown and sunken at stipe, pores easily removed. Flesh white, no staing observed. Stipe 10 cm long with scabers, bruising greenish blue, solid, brittle and enlarging towards base. Tubes 1 cm long at stipe. Heavily infested with larva when found near Black Birch (Betula lenta). Spore print brown. Spores 17-20 um x 6-7 um wide. Was considering L. oxydabile, but no context staining was seen.
