most grays in my experience also have a double walled-stipe. was this also true for yours Ryan?

at least as far south as Yosemite…but how cool to pick ’em at sea level!
I am still wondering how far south these are found in California. Also from what I have heard these ususally flush after the main M. elata flush.

This looks very much like the button stage Gray Morels that I picked in Rocky Mountain burn site a few years back. As this type matures, the color tends to lighten up a bit. Are this CA type usually found in burn sites, or are they “Naturals”?
