Notes:
Pinkish toned caps and teeth of this Sarcodon indicate S. scabrosus. Bitter in taste as with S. imbricatum- but with more pink/reddish tones all over, pinkish teeth and not distinctly turning upward in age. Not discoloring or exhibiting any blue staining before or after handling.
Taste: Bitter, mealy.
Smell: farinaceous, not unpleasant.
Elevation: 1600ft.
Temp: low 40’s.
