I have collected at about the elevation you mentioned in central Mexico and in the Chiricahua mountains in SE AZ.
I know there quite a few species of sect. Vaginatae in the higher elevations.
I am looking at it right now. There is a chance that it is very faintly pinkish. How’s that for a positive comment. Yes, I do have this. I am away from home and did not bring my dehydrator. I will attempt to dry this on a screen above a light bulb just in case you might want this. Don’t know if you have any material that you have received from this altitude and habitat. Lots of the trees here are conifers and the ground is covered with conifer litter. Sylvia
Did you have the impression that gills were faintly pink or whitish orange? Were you able to retain the material?
