Growing on needles accumulated on top of a large redwood log.
No reaction in MLZ. Basidia 4-spored, a typical-looking one measured 16+4 x 5.5. Spores 7-9 × 2.5-3.5. Cheilocystidia about 21 × 4 with tips 2.5 microns wide.
The id is the best I could find. Nothing I’ve seen and measured seems to contradict the description except perhaps the size of basidia (22-31 × 3-7 in description). Sadly, I was unable to make a useful pp mount—there would need to be diverticulate hyphae there with capitate pilocystidia.
