In a clearing in Eucalyptus species forest. Growing in a bulldozed drain. Fruiting amongst native grasses. Coming out of the mud generally. This is deposited on top of the red clayey soil.

Mycelium attached to small pieces of twig or bark from the nearby trees. This has either fallen or been washed in by rain.
