Marchandiomyces auriantiacus on this Physcia (the coral-pink bulbils visible when I zoomed in on your thumbnail image) … which Dr. Lendemer from NYBG has identified in “observation 262313” and which he indicates is pretty common on Physcia. May be some other parasitic fungus on this lichen also. Were you able to get more pictures?

I am continuing to work on this and get better photos. Quite a small specimen on this Purple plum tree – Prunus cerasifera. Thanks for your input. Sylvia

Could be the same as seen in Judi’s observation. Same county, about 20 miles apart. I will get with her and compare notes. Trying to get a better photo of this. It is so small! Thanks. Sylvia

observation 262313, from November 2016 in Missouri, a possible first North American record for Nectriopsis physciicola, a lichenicolous fungi. But zoomed in I don’t know….
