Used references: It looks just like one, but the volva was missing. I thought it might be volvariella, but someone on the mushroom identification forum said no, definitely amanita. It had rained heavily the day before, which might explain the loss of annulus.

Recognized by sight: Looks like a bulb is present, eliminating sect. Vaginatae from consideration. Could be something similar to sp.-SO1
