Observation 287142: Biannulariaceae Jülich

Notes:
Growing on a well-rotted, decorticated oak log. Caps hygrophanous. Cap and stem dry. Odor indistinct. No latex present. PDAB negative on all surfaces. Did not notice a veil on any fruiting bodies. This is a common decomposer of old oak logs in Central Ohio.

Recognized by sight: I suspect this may be the same thing as 279736. I’ve collected the same species as that in Indiana with Stephen Russell (DNA confirmed) and it looked intermediate between these. The gill attachment seems pretty variable and this lines up well with Peck’s description of Clitocybe fellea.
