No specimen available

Found in leaf litter under oaks and hardwoods in a wooded park. Strong anise/almond scent, persistent yellowing, cogweel annulus, abruptly bulbous stembase. (Also delicious)

Jacob Pulk and I found these in Phil Hardberger park on October 10th. Pulk has some great photos of this collection that I’m sure will be posted soon.

I saved this material and it’s currently drying. Jacob Pulk also has a sample.

… but I wouldn’t use that name. I’m not sure it HAS a name. It might be related to A. subrufescens. Too bad there’s no preserved specimen.

‘Darkest Texas’ really needs more field work!
