Many specimens were found in mixed forest (hardwoods and conifers). But these pictured were in a plantation of red pine only, no other trees within 100 feet.

We have a combined nrITS-LSU sequence from this observation’s voucher.

The nrITS component is a 100% match for five nrITS sequences we have derived in five previous cases for material A. subnigra. One the other hand, we have not usually obtained a good quality nrLSU sequence for subnigra and, consequently, don’t have a group of good samples to compare.

In this case, we do have a a good sample that we can test against future nrLSU sequences from reputed specimens of subnigra.
