Notes:
Collector’s_Name: Joanne
Substrate: Nestled in sand and shells on an old sandbar in estuary
Habitat: 2 ft above high tide
Host: Few young plants – now working to get them ID’d. Not present in areas with much vegetation.
Other: Hundreds in area 120 ft X 240 ft. Largest is 6cm across. Apparently not attached to plant roots. No wood chips, sawdust, buried wood, etc.

Two growing together, (see other image) washed and scraped to remove most sand. Base material firm. Separated easily except for white material above base. Base was cut with knife.

Most were growing near Heterotheca grandiflora, telegraphweed, daisy family dicot.
